Denunciation

IMG_5487A

Denunciation is based in Sacramento and described as Disgusting Misanthropic Ignorant Death Metal. After experiencing them live, I can say that description is pretty accurate.

Members are:

N. Barnhart – guitar
J. DeOdio – vocals
N. Liuzzi – drums
B. Tardiff – bass

These musicians have all come from other bands I’ve loved, so I am in total support of this project. They are in the process of recording at Earth Tone Studios in Sacramento and also have some shows coming up. I advise you to follow them on Facebook for info and updates.

Follow Me Dark

Follow Me Dark is an alternative metal/hard rock band based in Grass Valley, consisting of members: Stephen Kozak (vocals/guitar), Elliott Grove (bass), Sean Batinic (guitar), and Jim Boots (drums)

I have done shoots with Jim before when he was in previous bands, Chronaexus, Minenwerfer, and Nunfuck. I was happy he trusted me, once again, to photograph his current project. It was a fun shoot and the guys are really nice! They have a show coming up on May 17th at On the Y in Sacramento, Ca.

Please follow them on Facebook and Instagram under their band name for more info and updates!

Edge of Spring Fantasy Fair

I went to a two day fantasy fair event in Auburn this past weekend and had a great time! I have no idea why I don’t frequent these events more often, I need to change that! So much opportunities to take fun pictures! It was sprinkling here and there, but that didn’t stop me from wandering around and seeing what there was to see! It was especially muddy near the knight fight area, but I was wearing old boots I got from the thrift store, so I wasn’t stopped from getting a bit closer because my lens doesn’t zoom that far. I’d like to get better lenses one day, but it will have to wait.

These are just a few of the pictures I took, just to get an idea. I uploaded all of them to my Facebook. As always, I always struggle with indoor photography because of my crappy gear. My outdoor ones didn’t turn out that magnificent, either! I didn’t have any weather protection for my camera, so I kind of rushed through my picture taking in order to keep it from getting sprinkled on. My gear is cheap, but all I have for now. Who am I kidding, I will probably never upgrade!

Anyways, I had a wonderful time at the fantasy fair. The escape from monotonous life was badly needed. Too much all work and no play for me. I kind of wanted to just stay in that wonderland for a little while longer. Oh well, I must wait for another similar event, and I will definitely be on the lookout!

Visit the Edge of Spring Fantasy Festival website for more info on this event and attractions! Thanks to everyone involved in that awesome event! It was quite fun!

Shortly after I did my shoot with Gloriam Draconis, I was also honored to do a shot with Defecrator. They are a black/death metal band from Sacramento. They are currently working on their full length and seeking to play more shows outside the Sacramento area.

Anti-Human Black/Death of Satan
Angel Raping Invoker of Bestial Chaos: guitar/vocals
Anti-Human Unholy Sexslayer of Hate: drums/vocals
Abhorrent Orgy Ejaculator of the Dead: bass/vocals

Newest Changes

I finally changed a few things on my site to maybe make it worth my annual domain fee. I’m pretty sure a few years went by where I’d log in just a few times a year, griping about not having any motivation for photography, but promising a return. Well here I am. I will list my most recent changes to catch you all up to speed so I can move forward and be on track with everything.

  • I have made great progress in getting caught up on photography from shows I’ve taken the past few years and never uploaded. I am able to do so with ease on this new laptop. I have just a little more to catch up on and will be uploading these images to my Angelize Photography Facebook.
  • Ahh! I have finally designed my own logo! I have been wanting to do that for years but I was indecisive about a design and too lazy to sketch anything up. I decided to complete it just in time to present with all the other changes I have just listed!

There are a few things I am wanting to catch up on before I make more plans to do more shoots. I am eager to create some more art, but I also don’t want to get overwhelmed because I have other things in life that have also caught my interest during my photography hiatus. If I carefully apply my time, I will make time for everything.

Starting Anew

I stopped doing photography for a while. I started losing my passion for it for various reasons, but mostly because I failed to stay true to myself as an artist. Not happening anymore.

I learned a lot along the way and had some great times, and everything I had done helped me realize what I prefer to do artistically. I also learned that being a “photography service” does not suit me. I am happiest by simply creating the kind of art I personally enjoy. I don’t have time in my life for anything less than that. So moving forward…
